I received word today that Chris – the girl I took to the Monroe-Woodbury prom back in ‘88 – bagged an 8 or 9 point buck. WTG Chris!!! Woooohooooo!!! :D Looks like someone’s gonna be eating venison this winter. Nice trophy rack too.

I forgot to mention that just a couple of weeks back her car got nailed by a deer…

Hope her kill over the weekend serves as little payback for one of those little stinkers phucking up her car ;)

It’s All About Defending Life

Today is a good day for the pro life movement. First is the earth-shattering report from stem cell researchers claiming that they now have the ability to fore go the destruction of human life through embryonic experimentation…

The Future Is Now
Stem-cell debate changes.
By Father Thomas Berg
National Review Online
November 20, 2007 9:19 AM

It’s called “reprogramming.”

Another technical term for it is “somatic cell dedifferentiation.” Just get those terms into your vocabulary because they’ll be around for the foreseeable future. As reported in two scientific papers published today, reprogramming is now the future of stem cell research and renders ethically controversial therapeutic cloning obsolete.

Ever since the debate of embryo-destructive stem-cell research began in earnest in 1998 when researchers at the University of Wisconsin first isolated human embryonic stem cells, we’ve known that the best overall answer to the ethical impasse would be a solution that both allows the search for stem-cell related cures to go foreword, while doing so without harming or destroying embryonic human life in the process.

We now have that solution.

Two major scientific papers published today in Science and Cell offer proof of principle research to show that it is possible to generate patient-matched pluripotent stem cells without human cloning and its attendant moral pitfalls: the need to harvest and use human eggs from female donors and the subsequent destruction of cloned human embryos. Both studies used reprogramming of adult human cells to generate stem cells known as “induced pluripotent state cells” (iPSCs) that have all the properties of human embryonic stem cells.

*snip*

Most of us in the pro-life movement have known for years that advancements in stem cell research would one day render the destruction of human embryos – the earliest stage of human life – obsolete. That day has arrived! Not only that, but there is also a report out that claims researchers have achieved an important breakthrough in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease using gene therapy…

Breakthrough in Parkinson’s gene therapy

Last Updated: 10:01pm GMT 19/11/2007

Evidence that a breakthrough has been achieved in gene therapy for serious brain diseases has come with the release of the hard evidence that it works in Parkinson’s disease.

Breakthrough in Parkinson’s gene therapy
Patients were given injections of billions of copies of genetically altered viruses into parts of the brain

The world’s first gene therapy for a brain disease brought about significant improvements in the mobility of Parkinson’s sufferers. American doctors said it could also herald a landmark in the treatment of other neurological disorders, such as Alzheimer’s or epilepsy but there was a lingering doubt that the reports by a dozen patients of improvements of up to 65 per cent in mobility could be anecdotal or due to the placebo effect.

Today, Prof David Eidelberg of the of The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research in Manhasset, New York, and colleagues report in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences evidence that the brain chemistry of the patients has been altered by gene therapy, ending concerns that the evidence that it worked depended too much on what the patients said and not enough on objective measures. “It is the first solid evidence of benefit from gene therapy. It is objective,” Prof Eidelberg told The Daily Telegraph.

Parkinson’s affects about 120,000 people in Britain, with 10,000 new cases diagnosed every year. It robs sufferers of the ability to walk and even eat, causes long motionless periods known as “freezing” as well as head and limb tremors. As the disease progresses, higher doses of drugs are required, leading to side-effects that include involuntary movements.

Sufferers include the former world boxing champion Muhammad Ali and the actor Michael J Fox.

*snip*

Michael J Fox is prolly twitching for joy after hearing this… right. I can’t wait to see him come out in applause for this fantastic news. I know, don’t hold my breath. Don’t worry folks, I’m way ahead of ya here.

Then, in what may appear to be a completely unrelated issue, the Supreme Court has decided to take up the issue of socialist gun control in Washington D.C…

Supreme Court Agrees to Hear Challenge to DC Gun Ban
By Randy Hall
CNSNews.com Staff Writer/Editor
November 20, 2007

(CNSNews.com) – The U.S. Supreme Court announced on Tuesday that it will decide whether the ban on owning guns in the District of Columbia is constitutional, a pivotal case that could determine if the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution protects the right to own firearms.

At issue is a 31-year-old Washington, D.C., law banning handguns and requiring that all shotguns and rifles be kept unloaded and either trigger-locked or disassembled at all times. There is no exception for self-defense.

“The Bill of Rights does not end at the District of Columbia’s borders, and it includes the right to keep and bear arms,” said Alan Gura, lead counsel for the plaintiffs in Heller v. District of Columbia.

“After three decades of failure trying to control firearms in the District, it’s time for law-abiding city residents to be able to defend themselves in their homes,” Gura added. “We are confident the Supreme Court will vindicate that right in Washington, D.C., and across the nation.”

Dick Heller, a District resident who works as an armed security guard during the day but is forbidden by District law from keeping a handgun at home to protect himself, explained: “I want to be able to defend myself and my wife from violent criminals, and the Constitution says I have a right to do that by keeping a gun in my home.”

*snip*

For years now, D.C. has had one of the highest violent crime rates in the entire nation. Is it any wonder? They also have the most restrictive gun laws in the entire nation! Law abiding citizens are not permitted to bear arms in order to protect themselves or their families in the event of an armed attack!!! This is insanity, the perps know they have the upper hand and without a threat of an armed retaliation, they have become extremely emboldened. Likewise, in other cities around the country with similarly restrictive gun laws, violent crime and crime involving illegal weapons has skyrocketed. As the old saying goes… outlaw the guns and only outlaws will have them.

Here a bit of common sense for ya, folks…

PRO-GUN = PRO-LIFE

Those who live in glass houses…

It appears to me that presidential hopeful, Senator John McCain likes throwing stones inside his little house of glass. During an NRA gathering to hear the GOP candidates tout their positions on the second amendment, Rudy Giuliani tried desperately to mask his left of center view on the subject to which many of the other candidates and pundits found an opportunity to throw stones of ridicule at him. Of course, there is always one in the crowd who slips in his own hypocritical pile of dog shit.

GOP rivals take aim at Giuliani

By Joseph Curl
The Washington Times
September 22, 2007

A cell-phone call interrupted Republican presidential hopeful Rudolph Giuliani in midspeech at an NRA forum at the Capital Hilton in Washington yesterday. It was his wife, Judith.

Rudolph W. Giuliani yesterday assured members of the National Rifle Association he would protect their Second Amendment rights while his rivals for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination criticized his inconsistent record.

*snip*

Yesterday, there were people all around him — in the audience and, one by one, at the podium — who did not agree with him. Sen. John McCain of Arizona struck first, telling group members they need to “dig into a politician’s record to find out where they really stand.”

*snip*

“dig into a politician’s record to find out where they really stand.”

Oh really? Ok, lets start with a little piece of legislation, dear to the hearts of all NRA members called the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform Act of 2002.

The Benefit of a Well Armed Community

As I mentioned in my last post, there were a million reasons why the VA Tech massacre happened and how it could have been prevented and by far the degradation of our social values is at the core of making any sense of it at all. Unfortunately though, for many out there on the left, it’s just another excuse to call for more gun legislation and restrictions on legitimate and responsible gun owners. It has been proven that well armed communities are most effective at reducing crime largely by invoking fear in the minds of would-be criminal perpetrators. In fact, this has proven to be true throughout most of the entire history of our nation. Back in the days of the early America, it was required of every man to be well armed at all times …EVEN IN CHURCH! It was the intimidation factor that prevented attacks from hostile Indians and theft from robbers and gangs.

So you would think that when the VA Tech massacre happened last Monday, the NRA would step up to the plate on behalf of the Second Amendment and the interests of legitimate and responsible gun owners across our nation. Nope! Wayne LaPierre comes out in pussified fashion in some futile attempt to soften the backlash against the organization and being a life member, I can only express my complete outrage over his recent comments at the NRA Annual Meeting in Denver, Colorado. The anti-gun liberals will never acknowledge our Second Amendment right to bear arms and to think that offering platitudes will improve our image is nothing short of drug induced fantasy.

“…we believe in absolutely gun-free, zero-tolerance, totally safe schools. That means no guns in America’s schools, period … with the rare exception of law enforcement officers or trained security personnel.

“We believe America’s schools should be as safe as America’s airports. You can’t talk about, much less take, bombs and guns onto airplanes.Such behavior in our schools should be prosecuted just as certainly as such behavior in our airports is prosecuted.”

Even today, WorldNetDaily posted an article detailing the benefit of firearms being allowed on campuses prior to the enactment of legislation that banned them in Virginia.

As soon as the gunfire erupted, two students acting independently of one another, Tracy Bridges and Mikael Gross, ran to their vehicles to retrieve firearms. Gross, an off-duty police officer in his home state of North Carolina, got his 9mm pistol and body armor. Bridges got out his .357 Magnum.

Bridges and Gross went back to the building where the shots were heard and as Odighizuwa exited, they approached from different angles. Bridges yelled for him to drop his weapon and the shooter was subdued by several unarmed students.

Given the above example, I was absolutely shocked when I also learned that just three months prior, legislation was “shot down” which would have reversed the prohibition of firearms on VA state campuses …AND VIRGINIA TECH SPOKESMAN LARRY HINCKER PRAISED THE BILL’S DEFEAT!!!

I will be writing the NRA to tell them that my financial contribution days are now officially over until I see some meaningful backbone expressed by the leadership. Perhaps, if Wayne LaPierre responded more like the man who I am backing for Republican Presidential Candidate did, I might feel a little different…

Signs of Intelligence?

By Fred Thompson

One of the things that’s got to be going through a lot of peoples’ minds now is how one man with two handguns, that he had to reload time and time again, could go from classroom to classroom on the Virginia Tech campus without being stopped. Much of the answer can be found in policies put in place by the university itself.

Virginia, like 39 other states, allows citizens with training and legal permits to carry concealed weapons. That means that Virginians regularly sit in movie theaters and eat in restaurants among armed citizens. They walk, joke, and rub shoulders everyday with people who responsibly carry firearms — and are far safer than they would be in San Francisco, Oakland, Detroit, Chicago, New York City, or Washington, D.C., where such permits are difficult or impossible to obtain.

The statistics are clear. Communities that recognize and grant Second Amendment rights to responsible adults have a significantly lower incidence of violent crime than those that do not. More to the point, incarcerated criminals tell criminologists that they consider local gun laws when they decide what sort of crime they will commit, and where they will do so.

Still, there are a lot of people who are just offended by the notion that people can carry guns around. They view everybody, or at least many of us, as potential murderers prevented only by the lack of a convenient weapon. Virginia Tech administrators overrode Virginia state law and threatened to expel or fire anybody who brings a weapon onto campus.

In recent years, however, armed Americans — not on-duty police officers — have successfully prevented a number of attempted mass murders. Evidence from Israel, where many teachers have weapons and have stopped serious terror attacks, has been documented. Supporting, though contrary, evidence from Great Britain, where strict gun controls have led to violent crime rates far higher than ours, is also common knowledge.

So Virginians asked their legislators to change the university’s “concealed carry” policy to exempt people 21 years of age or older who have passed background checks and taken training classes. The university, however, lobbied against that bill, and a top administrator subsequently praised the legislature for blocking the measure.

The logic behind this attitude baffles me, but I suspect it has to do with a basic difference in worldviews. Some people think that power should exist only at the top, and everybody else should rely on “the authorities” for protection.

Despite such attitudes, average Americans have always made up the front line against crime. Through programs like Neighborhood Watch and Amber Alert, we are stopping and catching criminals daily. Normal people tackled “shoe bomber” Richard Reid as he was trying to blow up an airliner. It was a truck driver who found the D.C. snipers. Statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that civilians use firearms to prevent at least a half million crimes annually.

When people capable of performing acts of heroism are discouraged or denied the opportunity, our society is all the poorer. And from the selfless examples of the passengers on Flight 93 on 9/11 to Virginia Tech professor Liviu Librescu, a Holocaust survivor who sacrificed himself to save his students earlier this week, we know what extraordinary acts of heroism ordinary citizens are capable of.

Many other universities have been swayed by an anti-gun, anti-self defense ideology. I respect their right to hold those views, but I challenge their decision to deny Americans the right to protect themselves on their campuses — and then proudly advertise that fact to any and all.

Whenever I’ve seen one of those “Gun-free Zone” signs, especially outside of a school filled with our youngest and most vulnerable citizens, I’ve always wondered exactly who these signs are directed at. Obviously, they don’t mean much to the sort of man who murdered 32 people just a few days ago.

Sorry Wayne, but if Virginia HB1572, which would have reversed Virginia’s prohibition, allowing full carry permit owners to have handguns on college campuses, bars and churches, there would have been at least some chance that someone could have taken out this lunatic before he slaughtered 33 people.

Earth to Wayne …Earth to Wayne LaPierre.

Breaking The Silence

After more than a whole year I finally have broken my silence. Truth be told, I’ve gone through one of the most painful years of my life and have had little time nor the desire to start posting again due to the hell my family and I have been put through. Feminist and socialist forces were successful at using legal trickery in the attempt to destroy all that I hold dear and although they have won major battles, they have not beaten me.

I’M STILL STANDING!!!

…thanks to many prayers and some good folks who’ve given me their strong shoulder to lean upon. God bless you – you know who you are.

Over the years I’ve become wiser to the ways of ass-clowns like the Clintons who are obsessed with controlling others, manipulate the system to their benefit and take advantage of folks unable to defend themselves against pure bullshit or too ignorant to give a damned in the first place. That’s the reason why I keep this site going. It’s not enough to just turn on the TV, see all the misery that goes on in the world today and walk away feeling like you are incapable of making any kind of difference, powerless to counter the evil that seams to have all but taken over this planet, but try we must, if for nothing else but to know that when you stand before God on the day of your judgment, He will know that you at least made the effort. Therefor I will continue to use this forum as my platform from which to wage war against the forces seeking to tear apart the very fabric of our society. I have found this to be one of my defining God given talents and I plan on returning that gift ten fold.

“Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his property to them. To one he gave five talents of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. The man who had received the five talents went at once and put his money to work and gained five more. So also, the one with the two talents gained two more. But the man who had received the one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.

“After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.’

“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

“The man with the two talents also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two talents; see, I have gained two more.’

“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

“Then the man who had received the one talent came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’

“His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.

” ‘Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents. For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ . . .” — Matthew 25:14-30

One thing that I have learned more recently is to not be as focused on the evil in our world and the snares of the devil, but to be focused instead on the light of our risen Lord. For as it is part of my mission here at this web site to help others see through the bullshit (or should I say “donkey shit”) piling up around us, I must also remember that my focus should not be so much on ranting about what is wrong in society, but knowing and helping others to see and know what is right.

With that out of the way, let me say that I am truly saddened by the needless tragedy that occurred this past Monday, the 16th in Virginia. One of the victims was from my county and being heavily involved in equestrian riding, being from the same high school and graduating class as my younger cousin who was also an equestrian rider, I feel some sort of connection. I pray for the family’s terrible loss. Sure, there are a million reasons why it happened and how it could have been prevented, but until today I have not heard anything that even comes close to the most dead-balls-on accurate explanation which I am about to share with you now. When I watched it, the first thing that came to mind was a phrase that my friend SondraK coined as “Today’s Bowling Ball To The Head Award” and it was enough to break my year long silence.

…and not for nothing folks, it feels good to be back;)

Givin’ the MSM both barrels…

Isn’t it hilarious how the liberal vultures in the MSM are absolutely furious over the fact that news of Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally peppering his friend with birdshot during a quail hunt wasn’t revealed to them for an entire 18 hours?!?!?! The VP immediately placed his personal medical response team in charge of getting the injured party all necessary attention he needed, the local authorities were promptly informed, and a friend at the incident was allowed to make a press release to the local news paper.

I’m sorry, but I have to LMAO!!!

The VP knew damned well that by giving the scoop to the local rag, he would essentially poke the MSM elites right between the eyes! HA!!! If you missed the whining brats in the White House Press Corp reading the riot act to Scott McClellan over the 18 hour delay in releasing the news of the accident, you’ve gotta see it! No doubt, this is a classic MSM elitist assclown hissy-fit in its purest form! What a spoiled bunch of brats! You can even see that curmudgeonly old bag Helen Thomas sitting front and center having all to do with just preventing herself from having a total breakdown! Simply awesome!!!

BTW, just to refresh my memory, how long did it take Chappaquiddick Ted to tell the authorities that Mary Jo Kopechne was left behind as fish food?!?!

Kids can’t be kids anymore?

I remember being part of a group of kids that spent all our free time roll playing WWII battles in the local park and around our neighborhood. There were about 10 of us in our small community who had relatives (grandfathers, great-uncles + such) that either fought Hitler in Europe or Tojo in the South Pacific and we idolized them as heroes (still do). The Vietnam War was still being fought at the time and some of us also had family fighting over there at that time as well. All in all, we must have had some 20 kids that participated and each of us would insist that Santa got us the coolest toy weapons every Christmas. What couldn’t be found under the Christmas tree or in the toy stores, we would make up in our tool sheds or basements. I remember once making a cardboard tube bazooka which eventually got used as a main gun on a mock-up tank we made out of plywood, 2×4s and an old go-cart. We even had a couple of girls that participated as soldiers, field nurses, hostages, messengers and spies. We would draw straws to determine who fought as the enemy and luckily I only remember a couple of occasions when I had to fight on the side of the axis. It was truly a golden time in our lives and we all had so much fun. As blog goddess SondraK points out, times be changin’! Kids today can’t even play a simple game of tag! WTF is that all about?!?! Unfortunately, it’s really quite sad that today’s PC police and Freudian peaceniks have made it nearly impossible for kids to have real wholesome fun anymore.

Buck Rodgers in the 21st century millitary???

Yesterday I pulled this article off Drudge’s website and had to give this revelation some pause. The military is actually gearing up to start using laser weapons in order to take out enemy defensive ground positions prior to putting boots on the ground. They’re claiming that it will nearly eliminate all collateral damage (undesired casualties of consequence). While that sounds all wonderful and humane and such, what are we going to be left with for the satisfaction and affect of “shock and awe?” Somehow, melting a tank or an anti-artillery battery with a searing beam of light just leaves me a little flat. Ya know? It just doesn’t seem to measure up to the adrenaline level achieved when, say, an A-10 “Warthog” dives in strafing an enemy’s defenses or a line of armored tanks!!!

Here, click the pics and see what I mean…

Here’s one test firing on the ground…

Here’s one attacking enemy positions…

That hail of hell-fire coming out of the A-10’s nose is a General Electric GAU-8/A “Avenger”. It’s one of the most awesome weapons in our military’s arsenal and it’s mighty damned impressive! Talk about “shock and awe!”

Here’s a closer look at the fearsome devastation this thing unleashes…

Lasers, Pffftttthhhhh! And what the heck ever became of Nicoli Tesla’s death ray? Huh?
